β Plix explores the concepts of dark UI, propaganda, and greenwashing. This project is an exploration of the decisions companies have historically made to trick the public.

Our commitment is unwavering, utilizing only reusable plastics sourced from the ocean and esteemed recycling plants. Proudly, Plix stands as a beacon of environmental responsibility, ensuring 100% sustainability in every delicious bite.
Plix Mission Statement
Plix Vision
We aim to normalize the consumption of plastic as a sustainable food source by promoting the benefits. Our food is a blend of microplastics and bio food so meals become cheaper, more sustainable, and more filling. Vitamins and nutrients can easily be added to our blend.
The Plix Home and About page are specially designed to address any concern or alarm that potential customers may have when considering incorporating microplastics into their diet.
The goal of the e-commerce section of the website is to expand on information found on Plix Foods packaging and give customers an easy way to purchase Plix Products without the hassle of visiting grocery stores in person.
Much of the info used for the informational flyers is based on actual research and fact, we simply twisted wording to make the consumptions of microplastics seem safe.
We created marketing materials showing real people interacting with the Plix product in order to encourage the feeling of safety.
Design Problem & Research
Initial Research
In order to market a product we already understand to be dangerous, we had to have a total understand of itβs risks in order to market around them carefully. This involved an extensive case study on the historical marketing of tobacco, researching what kinds of plastics can be recycled, the toxins that leach from all types of plastic, and early studies on the effects of microplastics on the human body.
Understanding the User
Persona & Taskflow
We set Plix in an alternative version of the American future by reengineering historical tropes. Our users require quick, easy, and affordable meals and can purchase them in ways similar to today.
Touchpoints
3D Design
The 3D design of what we imagined the Plix products to look like was inspired largely by what actual microplastics look like. The sea-glass like pieces are polished smooth and round and are very appealing.
Pica is a relatively common disorder that causes craving and chewing substances that have no nutritional value, such as ice, clay, soil, or paper.
Web Design
Prototyping
In order to convince an audience of the health and safety of Plix, we crafted an informational website with a ordering flow.
Physical Design
Marketing Plix
Print design is the root of propoganda. We created flyers and advertisements promising the safety of Plix products as well as creating ads showing imagery of users interacting with the products.
